Mick McHugh plays Kirra Kite Fest 2011
Kirra Kite Festival is a delightfully fun weekend which brings smiles to countless faces with colourful kites, vibrant characters and fun interactive activities for all ages to enjoy. The festival is held on the gorgeous Kirra Beach, situated on the southern Gold Coast of Australia. Best of all the festival is free for everyone to enjoy, so come one, come all, come play and be merry!
This November 20th we return with another dazzling all-day program that includes large-scale character kites, a world class artist line-up featuring island styles and gypsy music, camel rides, face painting, street & circus performers, delectable cuisine, workshops, markets, kite surfing, pyrotechnic skydiving, live art demonstrations, puppet shows and more.
This festival launches on Saturday night—19th November with a mouthwatering compilation of dining options and entertainment at select local beachfront venues, unveiling the area as a distinct food & wine precinct.
The free live music program is sensational with leading musicians such as The
Lamplights, A French Butler Called Smith, Blackbirds, Taylor, Mick McHugh and festival
favourite Bobby Alu. Musicians with a combined talent that stretches across the globe,
including performances at festivals such as Blues Fest, Island Vibes and Woodford—the
Kite Festival music stage is set to impress.
